LynnJust got back from a week at French Lick Springs Villa in Indiana. We had a great time. Went on several tours of Larry Bird’s home town. Took a ride on train through 20 miles of Hoosier National Forest,  limestone rock-cuts and 2,200 foot Burton Tunnel. It was powered by Diesel Locomotives.

We ate at 2 Amish restaurants: Gasthof”s and The Black Buggy. Great food. We went shopping in downtown Jasper and ate at a great German restaurant-Schnitzelbank.

In French Lick Springs we ate at The Row Boat, Chicago Pizza, Miguels’, Jody’s 9th Hole and The Winery.

Went to the pool in the AM if we weren’t on an early morning tour,  or in the afternoon if we had time. It was great. We had a choice of  three pools.

In the evening we were at the casino. It’s only three years old. Did OK for myself.

Thursday night there was a front porch concert. Local people singing and playing instruments. Went to Patoka lake for a boat ride after visiting the HUGE warehouse full of Government “stuff”.

I didn’t take too many pictures, just one of Larry Bird’s boyhood house, an eagle’s nest, and deer in front of our villa.

The drive was OK. No bad weather,  just a little rain on the way home.
