The Goliaks Road Trip

My husband and I went to Glacier National Park in mid June. It was a destination long considered.  We drove and found to our happiness that the traffic going north was fine after leaving the Chicago area. We had excellent weather, people were friendly, but we did encounter aspects of the flooding of the Missouri River.

On one route, supposedly a scenic one, from Red Lodge Montana to East Yellowstone, we fortunately stopped to eat locally and learned that there was still 17 feet of snow on the roads in Wyoming. We did hike in snowy areas in Glacier and the famous Going To The Sun Road was not open because of snow and road repairs.

It is a gorgeosus area with some of the most spectacular scenery.

We drove home through Yellowstone and Teton National Parks and found that there were about 3 cars in all on the road as we traveled across Wyoming. We came home via Kansas City, Missouri and a barbeque place-just a bit of a jog.
