My husband and I made a trip to Chicago for a few days mid-July for a family gathering in Naperville and then drove up to Minocqua, WI to visit my sister Maggie and her husband Russ for three days. They have a lovely home on one of the lakes in the North Woods where they live year round.
We went out on their pontoon boat a couple of times. One day tied up at one of the islands in the middle of the lake for a picnic and then watched a water ski show at another lake one evening. Spotted some bald eagles and of course, lots of loons. We had a really great time. Fortunately the weather wasn’t too hot or humid when we were there.
I had wanted to try to fit in time to visit with some of the St. Ethelreda group but it wasn’t in the cards this trip. My husband wasn’t feeling great and hated driving in all the city traffic. The first three pictures attached are of me in the boat, my sister Maggie in the boat, and the two of us together.
In late June the City of Prescott, AZ has its annual Rodeo which lasts through 4th of July. One of the evenings is Dare to Wear Pink Night and proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. The ACS has a pink booth at the rodeo and ACS volunteers man the booth selling pink-related products for ACS. Every Monday morning I volunteer for the ACS. Here’s a pic of me in the pink booth with my cowgirl hat and western shirt.
After a very hot summer, fall is definitely in the air. The day temps right now are in the 60′s and evenings in the high 40′s. Won’t be long and it’ll get colder but nothing like you get in Chi-town.
