Winter Olympics in VancouverFrom Lourdes Morris Garrick:
Our daughter Amy was on work assignment at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver for almost all of February. She got out of Washington, DC, on Friday February 5th just hours before the big snowstorm hit. She spent the weekend in Victoria visiting two of her Canadian friends who are originally from Edmonton. They took her zip-lining in Nanaimo.

Amy loved Vancouver, a beautiful, vibrant city. The people were enthusiastic and welcoming. She did a lot of site-seeing, going to Capalano Suspension Bridge, a da Vinci exhibit at the art gallery, the aquarium, Stanley Park and Granville market. Tickets to Olympic events were expensive but she did make it to two—the bronze metal hockey game between Finland and Slovakia and an early curling match.

She and her co-workers watched the two hockey games between the US and Canada at a sports bar. The Canadians went wild when they won the gold.
