Nashville here we come! My neighbor Lea and I stowed a small bag apiece and a cooler full of water, iced tea and grapes in her SUV on Tuesday late morning for our trip to Nashville. Lea had never been to Nashville, nor really anywhere on a vacation without her (now adult) daughters. The drive both ways was pleasant – clouded over, but no real rain – and no beating sun in your eyes. We arrived Tuesday evening at my ex-daughter-in-law Gayle’s home where my son Ed, Paige, Gayle and her parents were awaiting us. Morgan brought us all Sonic milkshakes from work when she finished her shift at 10.

Wednesday we toured the Rolling Stones Exhibit “Exhibitionism” at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Nashville and then had a full family dinner at Gayle’s. Paige was taking finals during the day, but Morgan was able to join Ed, Gayle, Lea and I for the museum exhibit.

Of course, Morgan and Grandma Suzie had to get matching shirts.

Thursday Lea, Ed, Morgan and I went to BB King’s Blues Club in downtown Nashville for catfish po’ boys and beer and then enjoyed music on the street from the various open air bars and restaurants. We ducked into a gift shop for t-shirts and then headed back to Gayle’s.

The whole crew left for dinner and live music at Original Puckett’s in Leiper’s Fork.

Such a good time!
